Application.
If you’ve been applying to multiple homes, you may notice our application is a bit more detailed than what you’re used to. At Big Brother, we place a strong emphasis on culture, and that begins with the intake process.
Our application isn’t about selecting the “right” answers — it’s designed to encourage honesty and give us a clear understanding of where you’re truly at. We’re not the right fit for everyone, and that’s intentional. If you’re simply looking for a place to stay and "hang out", or expecting sober living alone to do the work for you, we may not be the best fit for you.
You don’t need to have everything figured out, and you don’t need a certain kind of story or background. If you've truly surrendered and are ready to do what it takes to recover, then come aboard.
Those who do not recover are “usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves.”
(“How It Works,” Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th ed., p. 58)
Before beginning your application, please read our Rules & Expectations in full. We look forward to getting to know each other, and hope this application is page 1 of your recovery story.
